Hi lovelies! If you’ve been following me on my insta-stories, you would have seen that Nic and I have been living in our holiday trailer for a couple of weeks (I suddenly feel like a full time RVer LOL!) Nic was asked to temporarily transfer to a work site in Calgary and instead of staying in a hotel, we decided to turn it into an adventure with the doggo. So far, we’ve stayed at Gooseberry Provincial Recreation Area in Kananaskis Country, Riverbend Campground in Okotoks ( I do not recommend, we had a horrible experience!) and where we currently are and is our final destination is Bow RiversEdge Campground in Cochrane. We have fallen in love with this campground and will definitely come back the next time we are in the Calgary area. It is an RV Park, so its not your typical outdoorsy heavily forested campground, but it’s a perfect place for us to stay while we are here. It backs onto the Bow River with a beautiful off leash park, which we have been loving especially Brook! I have to say, Calgary and surrounding areas are so beautiful that I would actually consider moving down here… Nic and I have been romanticizing about the idea😅
I definitely get the best of this experience though, because while Nic is at work during the day, I get to go outside and explore. As a content creator, I’m instinctively always scouting out locations to take pictures. I found this really beautiful field and rustic fence in Kananaskis Country near our first camping destination. And although I was having fun taking these pictures, I was also very alert and being mindful of my surroundings… Just days before I was reminded that Kananaskis is bear country when a huge black bear ran in front of my car on the highway when I was going 100 KM/H! My stomach went into my throat as I slammed on my brakes! It literally scared the living crap out of me, but luckily no one was hurt and the bear safely ran to the other side of the road. I didn’t see any bears while I was frolicking through this field (thanks goodness!) but I did have a visit from two beautiful owls. I was only able to capture one in a zoomed in low resolution photo, but after hours of google search, I believe they were Arctic Great Horned Owls. From my understanding, they are quite rare as a pale subspecies of the Great Horned Owl… don’t quote me on any of this because I’m not a wildlife expert, but it was beautiful to see and it made day!
Anyways, enough about that. Let’s talk about this cute two piece set from American Eagle. The cropped cami and pleated mini skirt are a match made in heaven! I’m wearing the set in color “rust” but it comes in 3 additional color ways which I’ve linked below in the “Similar Items” carousel. I love that skirt is high waisted because I don’t think I’d be comfortable wearing it with a cropped top otherwise. I’d say that the skirt is true to size but I do recommend down sizing in the top. The style is to be a looser fit, but there is so much extra room that it fits larger then normal. I paired it with my Hunter boots for a “country bumpkin” kind of vibe but it will also look great with sneakers, flats, sandals, or even high heels if you wanted. I also love how versatile this set is. You can wear the pieces together like I have or break them apart to get two new pieces to mix and match within your existing wardrobe. I think this cami would look super cute with a pair of jeans and the skirt could be worn with any top that your heart desires, even a jumper with a French tuck on cooler days.
Let me know, what color way of this matching set would you choose?? I had a really hard time deciding because I want them all!!
Have a great day! xoxo
